The launch Edition of the Alfa Romeo 4C (pictured) will be in action at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed. We had the launch – finally – of the production version of the Alfa Romeo 4C at the Geneva Motor Show in March, and now visitors to the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July will get the chance to see the 4C in action as it makes its UK ‘Dynamic’ debut. Weighing in at under 1000kg, the 4C is a hugely promising sports car from Alfa, which seems to offer all you want from an Alfa including decent performance from the 1750cc four cylinder turbo from the Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde, which promises 0-62mph in around 4.5 seconds
Alfa are actually bringing the Launch Edition of the 4C to Goodwood for visitors to lust over, which gets extra tweaks including a carbon fibre body kit.
MINI has a new budget model - The MINI First
With all things Eco the flavour of the month, and with budgets stretched in households everywhere, a cheap, entry-level budget MINI is a tempting prospect. You still get the iconic shape, and you still get a very good chassis – which translates in to good handling and a decent ride – but you’re not paying a fortune for the fripperies. After all, there are MINIs that will set you back £25k (the MINI JCW Cabriolet), but the new MINI First is a very tempting £10,950.
Cadillac CTS-V coming in RHD
The Cadillac CTS-V – we assume in Coupe, Saloon and Estate versions – is being prepared for launch in the UK in right hand drive. One of the good things to come out of General Motors’ financial woes of a few years ago – apart from producing smaller world cars – has been the arrival of the Cadillac CTS-V. The Cadillac CTS-V may not be the biggest seller Cadillac are ever going to produce, but as a halo car to demonstrate just how good Cadillac can be, it’s pretty much unbeatable.
